Christmas Ships--Madeline singing with Seattle Girls Choir

Every year, on the Saturdays and Sundays between Thanksgiving and Christmas, Argosy cruises in Seattle sails on Lake Union and Lake Washington with a local vocal group.  They stop at neighborhood beach parks and some private lakeshore restaurants for a carolling show.

On December 1st, Madeline's choir group at Seattle Girls Choir (Cantamus) was the featured vocal group.  We got to hear her perform from the shore at Madrona Beach Park on Lake Union (their first stop).  It was great to hear the performance (although blasted over loud-speaker isn't the best acoustics and Madeline said they were still getting used to the in-boat acoustics at this first performance).  All the other boats are private vessels that follow along for fun--there were some great decorations on those boats, and there were many more of them than the last time we saw this performance.  What a fun tradition that Madeline got to be part of.

Here are a few photos of the boats and a few videos of some of the songs.   Madeline was on the large boat with the yellow-white lights and the light star.

  1. What a wonderful experience. Thank you for sharing. I had seen on a T.V. show where many sailing small ships with christmas lights on them sail around but to have such beautiful singing really is thrilling. I am really proud to have a grand daughter sharing these kind of experiences. THANK YOU
